TickTick

Text the to-do, find it in TickTick

Connect TickTick on your private page and CrewBuddy can add tasks with due dates, read what is open and move things when the week changes.

Text it like this

Fictional example.

You: Add: order the Nguyen vanity by Friday, call Mrs. Park back tomorrow at 10, pick up the tile saw blade Monday.
CrewBuddy: Added 3 tasks to your Jobs list with those dates. You have 1 overdue there: send the Lopez change order. Want a draft of it now?

How it connects

CrewBuddy uses TickTick’s own connection for AI assistants. In TickTick on the web, open Settings, then Account, then API Token, make a token and paste it in the TickTick box on your private page. You can do it yourself in a couple of minutes, and the token never goes in a text.

What it is good for

The stuff that comes up between jobs: a callback, a part to order, an estimate to send, a payment to chase. Text it the moment you think of it and CrewBuddy files it with a date. It also turns things into tasks: the punch items from a walkthrough, the follow-up dates on an estimate, the questions for a GC from a bid summary.

Ask "what is overdue?" or "what is on for tomorrow?" and it answers from TickTick, then moves or completes tasks when you say so.

What it does not do

It changes tasks only when you ask, and it does not text your crew about their tasks. TickTick handles its own notifications the way you have them set. The calendar connection is read-only, so a dated TickTick task is the way to get something on your list by text. CrewBuddy’s scheduled texts, like the Monday weather check, cannot read TickTick at that time, so ask in chat for the live list.

A typical day

Morning, ask what is on for today and CrewBuddy reads your list back in order. At a walkthrough, text the three things you promised the customer and they become tasks. At the supply house, ask what you still need to order. In the evening, ask what slipped and move it to tomorrow with one text.

Shared lists

If you share a list with your office manager or a crew lead in TickTick, tasks CrewBuddy adds there appear for them too, the same as tasks you add yourself. Sharing and permissions stay in TickTick.

Disconnecting

To cut the connection, delete the token in TickTick’s settings and it stops working at once. Your tasks stay in TickTick as they are.

Already keep a list on paper? CrewBuddy also keeps simple lists in your files. TickTick is for crews who already use it every day.

Start with today

CrewBuddy reads your TickTick tasks and adds or changes them when you ask, so callbacks, orders and follow-ups land in the list you already check.
