Ads in the slow season

Build a small Search campaign for the quiet months

Tell CrewBuddy the service, the towns and the daily amount. It builds a paused Search campaign in your Google Ads account with ad groups, keywords and ads for you to look over.

What you send: The service, the towns or ZIP codes you serve, a daily budget, the page on your site the ad should open, and anything to avoid saying.
What you send
What you get: A paused Search campaign with your budget and locations, one or two ad groups, phrase match keywords, ads with several headlines and descriptions, and a plain summary.

Text it like this

Fictional example.

You: Build a furnace tune-up campaign for Eagan and Burnsville, $20 a day. Send people to our tune-up page.
CrewBuddy: Built a paused Search draft called Furnace tune-ups, fall: $20 a day, people in Eagan and Burnsville, 1 ad group, 14 phrase match keywords, 1 ad with 10 headlines and 4 descriptions, linked to your tune-up page. Your campaigns now total $45 of your $60 daily limit. Turn it on in Google Ads when it looks right.

What goes into the draft

CrewBuddy looks up the towns or ZIP codes and targets people who are in or regularly in those places. It sets the daily budget, then builds one or two ad groups with phrase match keywords for the service. The ad uses several headlines of up to 30 characters and descriptions of up to 90 characters, so Google can mix them for different searches.

The ad text uses your Business Brief and the facts you give it. It will not claim a price, a response time or a license you have not confirmed. It shows on Google Search only, not on partner sites or the Display network.

Budget and turning it on

Before it builds anything, CrewBuddy adds up the budgets already in your account. If the new campaign would push the total past the daily limit you set during setup, it stops and tells you. If it cannot read the current budgets, it builds nothing.

Look the draft over in Google Ads: the locations, keywords, ad text and landing page. If the ads should show only while someone answers the phone, set an ad schedule there. Then turn it on yourself. CrewBuddy cannot turn ads on or raise a budget.

Ad spend is billed by Google to your account. The slow-season ads guide covers how to pick the service and size the budget. Once the campaign is on, run the weekly ads check and the junk search cleanup for the first few weeks.
