Plan your slow-season ads before the calendar empties
The quiet months are a sensible time to test a small, focused Search campaign. CrewBuddy builds the draft in your own Google Ads account, inside the daily limit you set, and reports what it spent and what came in.
Text it like this
Fictional example.
Advertise one service, not the whole business
Slow-season searches depend on the trade. Painters often push interior work in winter. HVAC companies push tune-ups before the first cold week. Landscapers move to fall cleanups, and deck crews plan for staining in early spring. Pick the one service that fits your calendar gap and build the campaign around it.
Send the ad to a page on your site that talks about that service, with your phone number near the top. Limit the area to the towns you really serve. CrewBuddy’s drafts target people who are in or regularly in the places you choose, which Google calls presence targeting, rather than people anywhere who search about those places. Google explains the options on its location targeting page.
Budget in plain numbers
Google treats your daily budget as an average. On a busy day a campaign can spend up to twice the daily amount, but for most campaigns Google will not charge more than 30.4 times the daily budget in a month. So $25 a day means up to about $760 a month. Choose an amount you are fine spending even if the month brings no jobs. We cannot predict what a budget will bring in, and we will not pretend to.
During setup you tell us the most CrewBuddy may set per day across all your campaigns. CrewBuddy adds up the budgets already in the account before it builds anything, keeps the total under that limit, and refuses to build a new campaign if it cannot read the current budgets. Ad spend is billed by Google to your account.
Check it every week
CrewBuddy reads your campaigns for the last 7 or 30 days: spend, clicks, calls, conversions and cost per conversion. It also pulls the search terms people actually typed before they clicked, so you can spot the ones that were never going to hire you and block them with negative keywords.
Google runs ads all day by default. If nobody answers your phone after 6 pm, you can set an ad schedule in Google Ads so ads show only during the hours you can pick up. CrewBuddy can pause a campaign, ad group, ad or keyword when you get busy. Turning ads on, raising a budget, deleting anything and billing happen in your Google Ads account, not through CrewBuddy.
CrewBuddy builds Search campaigns that show on Google Search. It does not run Local Services Ads, Display, Performance Max, Facebook or Instagram ads. If you are deciding between Search ads and Local Services Ads, read how the two compare.
