Repeat work
Remind past customers before the season turns
Past customers already know your work. A short, well-timed reminder about gutters, a furnace check or deck sealing gives them an easy way to book again. CrewBuddy turns your job list into a reminder plan and drafts the messages.
Text it like this
Fictional example.
Pick work that comes back every year
Some services repeat on their own schedule: furnace checks in the fall and air conditioning in the spring, gutter cleaning after the leaves drop, deck staining every couple of years, window washing, aeration, carpet cleaning, exterior touch-ups. Start with the one that fills a slow stretch on your calendar.
The reminder works best when it mentions what you did for that customer. “We cleaned your gutters last October” reads like a note from someone who remembers them. A generic sale message reads like an ad, and people treat it like one.
Fictional examples, replace the brackets. Furnace: “Hi [name], it is [your name] from [company]. We checked your furnace last October. Want me to save you a spot before the cold weather?” Deck: “Hi [name], we stained your deck in [month and year]. If you want a quick look this spring to see whether it needs a fresh coat, reply here and I will send a few dates.”
Build the list from what you have
Export last season’s jobs from Jobber, Housecall Pro or QuickBooks, or send photos of the job list with the dates and names showing. CrewBuddy finds the jobs for that service, groups them by month, and flags customers with no phone number or email. It does not connect to those tools directly, so the export or photo is the input.
Then pick the dates. CrewBuddy can set reminders that text only you, for example “Monday Oct 6, 8 am: send the first 20 gutter reminders.” When the reminder comes, ask for that batch of drafts. Sending a few each day keeps the replies to a number you can answer and schedule.
Send it the right way
Send texts only to customers who gave you their number to hear from you, and stop for anyone who asks. If your phone app sends texts in bulk, check its rules and any registration it needs. The FCC’s TCPA rules cover automated texts, and the source below explains consent and opt outs.
For email, the FTC’s CAN-SPAM guide explains when a message counts as commercial. A reminder that offers a service usually includes a sales pitch, so include your postal address and a clear way to opt out. CrewBuddy drafts the texts and emails. You send them from your own phone or inbox.
Keep a short note of who booked from each round and who asked not to be contacted. Next season, CrewBuddy can start from that note instead of the raw export. The seasonal check-in recipe shows the messages to send it.
