Estimates and jobs

Catch tomorrow’s problems tonight

Once your calendar is connected, text “tomorrow?” in the evening. CrewBuddy reads tomorrow’s jobs and tells you what is missing: an address, a start time, materials, the weather for outside work, or a customer to confirm.

What you send: Your calendar’s private link, once, on your private setup page. Then any notes about materials or crews for the jobs you want checked.
What you send
What you get: A short reply that lists tomorrow’s jobs in order with anything missing or in conflict, the forecast for outside work with its source, and confirmation texts for customers if you want them.
What you get

Fictional example.

Text it like this

Fictional example.

You: Tomorrow?
CrewBuddy: Tomorrow: 8:00 Lopez, deck stain, 14 Birch Ct. Rain is likely after 1 pm per the weather service. 11:30 Nguyen estimate, no address on the event. 1:00 Carter bathroom tile, but your notes say the tile arrives Thursday. Want a text to Mr. Nguyen asking for the address?

Connect the calendar once

CrewBuddy reads Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook through the calendar’s private link. For Google Calendar that is the secret address in iCal format, found in the calendar’s settings. You paste it on your private setup page, never in a chat. Google’s own help says only you should know that address and shows how to reset it if it is ever shared.

Until the link is set up, you can send a photo of tomorrow’s schedule instead, with the times visible, and get the same check.

The evening routine

Text “tomorrow?” when you finish for the day. CrewBuddy reads tomorrow’s events and compares them with the notes you have shared about the jobs: materials ordered, who is on which crew, what the customer still owes you an answer on. For outside work like exterior paint, concrete or landscaping, it looks up the forecast and says where it came from. If you tend to forget, ask for a 7 pm reminder on weekdays. The reminder texts only you, and the check itself runs when you reply.

The answer lists the day in order and puts the gaps first. If a customer needs to confirm a time, it drafts that text for you to send. Door and lockbox codes stay in your own job app, not in CrewBuddy’s notes. Fix the event in your calendar yourself, and the next check reads the change.

The check is only as good as the calendar. Put estimates and jobs on it with an address in the location field, and the evening text gets shorter. For the morning after, the job summary recipe handles the write-up.

What CrewBuddy prepares

A short reply that lists tomorrow’s jobs in order with anything missing or in conflict, the forecast for outside work with its source, and confirmation texts for customers if you want them.

What to keep in mind

CrewBuddy reads your calendar and does not change it. A job that is not on the calendar is a job it cannot see.
