Estimates and jobs

Turn site visit notes into a clear quote

Talk or type your notes after the estimate visit. CrewBuddy turns them into a quote with your prices, what is included, and what is not.

What you send: Your notes from the visit: rooms or areas, measurements, materials, prep, anything the customer asked for, and which of your prices apply.
What you send
What you get: A quote draft with the work described line by line, what is included and not included, your prices, and a list of details it could not confirm.
What you get

Fictional example.

Text it like this

Fictional example.

You: Johnson bathroom. Tear out tub surround, new 3x6 white subway tile to the ceiling, about 80 sq ft, one niche. Customer buys the tile. Use my tile labor rate.
CrewBuddy: Draft quote: Remove and dispose of the existing tub surround. Install customer-supplied 3x6 subway tile to the ceiling, about 80 sq ft, with one built-in niche. Labor at your saved tile rate. Not included: tile, plumbing changes, paint. Check: your notes do not say how the walls will be prepared or waterproofed. Add the prep you plan before sending.

What to put in the notes

Say it the way you would explain it to a helper: the area, the measurements, what is there now, what the customer wants, and anything you noticed that changes the work. You can type, use the microphone on your phone keyboard, or send a photo of your handwritten sheet. Mention what the customer is supplying and anything they asked you to leave out.

CrewBuddy describes only what your notes support. If something is missing, like how many coats, whether disposal is included, or how the walls will be prepped, it asks or flags it rather than filling the gap. That is the part that saves arguments later.

Your prices, your format

Your Business Brief holds your rates: per square foot, per room, per hour, minimums and common add-ons. CrewBuddy uses those. If a price is not saved yet, it asks you, and it can add the answer to your Brief once you say so. It can also keep a short checklist of items you tend to forget, like travel, disposal or moving furniture. Deposit and payment terms, how long the price is good, and your license number come from your Brief too. For painting or remodeling in a home built before 1978, it adds a reminder to check lead-safe work rules.

The quote always has an included section and a not-included section. Send it as a text, an email or a PDF. Then add it to your open estimates so the check-ins happen on schedule.

Once the quote is sent, the estimate follow-up recipe keeps track of it. If the customer pushes back on the price, see explain what your price covers.

What CrewBuddy prepares

A quote draft with the work described line by line, what is included and not included, your prices, and a list of details it could not confirm.

What to keep in mind

Prices come from you or your Business Brief. CrewBuddy does not guess a price, a measurement or a step you did not mention.
