Schedule and crew

Move a rainy day without a dozen phone calls

When rain is coming, text CrewBuddy the day and the times you can offer instead. It finds the outside jobs on your calendar and writes one short text per customer for you to send.

What you send: The day that is moving and two times you can offer. Your calendar link, once, on your private setup page.
What you send
What you get: One short text per outside job with the reason and your two options, a note on any job it could not tell was inside or outside, and a list of who still needs to answer.
What you get

Fictional example.

Text it like this

Fictional example.

You: Rain all day Thursday. Move Thursday’s outside jobs. I can do Friday or Monday.
CrewBuddy: Thursday has 2 outside jobs. Draft for Ana Garcia, exterior trim at 8 AM: Hi Ana, rain is coming Thursday, so we need to move your trim job. Would Friday or Monday at 8 work? Draft for Dave Kim, deck stain at 1 PM: the same note, with Friday or Monday at 1. The 3 PM estimate is inside, so I left it.

What CrewBuddy looks at

It reads the day you name from your calendar and sorts the jobs by what the event title and your notes say: exterior paint, decks, roofs, concrete and yard work are outside, and an estimate at a kitchen is inside. When it cannot tell, it asks you instead of guessing. If you ask, it looks up the forecast for your area and says where it came from.

Until your calendar is linked, send a photo of the day’s schedule with the times showing and you get the same drafts.

Texts that get a quick answer

Each draft names the job, gives the reason in a few words and offers the two times you sent. Two clear choices get a faster reply than “let me know what works.” Drafts come in English or Spanish, depending on how you talk to that customer.

Send each one from your own phone. As customers answer, text CrewBuddy “Ana took Friday” and it keeps a short list of who has replied and who still needs a nudge. Then move the event in your calendar, and the next tomorrow check reads the change.

The rain delays guide covers what to say and when. If the day is only running late, the running late recipe is shorter.

What CrewBuddy prepares

One short text per outside job with the reason and your two options, a note on any job it could not tell was inside or outside, and a list of who still needs to answer.

What to keep in mind

CrewBuddy reads your calendar and cannot move events. Move each job yourself once the customer picks a time.
